Martin Robinson - Sax
Currently Leeds based, Martin is 25 years old and has been playing saxophone for 8 years. Initially self taught, he gained a first class honours degree in jazz studies from Leeds college of music, graduating in 2006.
He now plays professionally in a wide range of musical environments, from jazz and world music, through soul and funk to dance music playing alongside D.J's and M.C's.
Martin has played in the bands of Roy Wood (Wizzard/ELO/The Move), Vernon Lewis (Trickster/Lisa Marie Experience/E - Maculate), Omar Puente (Courtney Pine/Robert Mitchell), Matt Bourne (Perrier Young Jazz Musician of the year), Chris Sharkey (Acoustic Ladyland), and with D.J's such as Rob Tissera, Rob Da Bank, Andy Smith (Portishead).
Simon Peat - More Sax (Biography excerpt from simonpeat.com)
Having studied under Paul Dunmall and Jackie Mclean, Simon peat spent his formative playing years in Paris, playing with visiting American artists(Jonny Griffin,Charles Lloyd to name a few). For the past two years he has been based in the uk, where as well as fronting his own successful bands, he has also carved out a career as one of the most in demand session players on the scene , playing with some of the biggest names in pop, rock and jazz ( Amy Winehouse, Beverly Knight, Rod Stewart, Jamiroquai etc). His angular playing style and frenetic passages of improvisation are reminiscient of his mentor Jackie Mclean's. Recent tours of Europe and the US recieved rave reviews.
